Best slowed reverb makers (2026)

The best slowed reverb makers in 2026, compared on speed range, reverb controls, pitch options, export formats, batch processing and price, limits stated plainly.

There are more slowed reverb makers than there were two years ago, and most of them do roughly the same thing: a speed slider, a reverb slider, a download button. The differences that matter are what happens to pitch, whether you can shape the reverb beyond a single amount, what format you get at the end, whether you can process more than one song, and whether anything is paid or gated.

This list puts our own slowed reverb maker first, because this is our site and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The reasons are listed honestly, including what we do not do. Every other entry is based on the tool's own published page or, in one case, its application text, read at the time of writing. Where a page did not state something, the table says so. One tool we intended to include, Violet Recording's generator, returned a server error when we tried to read it, so it is left out rather than described from memory. For deeper head-to-heads, see vs Audacity, vs SonicLab and online tool vs DAW.

1. slowandreverb

What it is. A free browser editor on this site. Add MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG or FLAC files, set Speed, Reverb, Space, Bass, Tone and Width, preview the exact export chain live, and download an MP3 or a ZIP. Everything runs in the browser tab with the Web Audio API and nothing is uploaded.

Strengths. Reverb is two controls, wet mix and decay, rather than one, and Bass, Tone and Width let you shape the result. Four presets ship with it and you can save your own. Batch is built in: Select All Tracks, set once, Download All for a ZIP, or select subsets for different settings. No account, no watermark, no ads, no file count or length limit. Works in mobile browsers.

Limits. Export is MP3 at 96 kbps and 32 kHz only. No WAV, no FLAC, no higher bitrate. That is tuned for fast in-browser encoding and is fine for YouTube, TikTok and Shorts, which re-encode on upload, but it is not a distribution master. No independent pitch shift: pitch follows speed unless Preserve pitch holds the key, and Preserve pitch changes the live preview only; exported files keep the speed-linked pitch. No trimming, no chopping, no video.

Best for. Channel operators processing many songs, anyone who wants the edit done in a minute with no install, and anyone who cares that audio stays on their device.

2. Audacity

What it is. Free, open source desktop audio editor for Windows, macOS and Linux. Not a slowed reverb tool, but it has every piece: Change Speed and Pitch, Change Tempo, Change Pitch, Reverb, and EQ.

Strengths. Export quality and depth. WAV, FLAC and WavPack losslessly, MP3 from 8 to 320 kbps, OGG, Opus and M4A. Change Pitch shifts in semitones without touching tempo. The Reverb effect exposes room size, pre-delay, reverberance, damping, separate low and high tone, wet and dry gain and stereo width, with presets from Bathroom to Cathedral. Full waveform editing for trimming, fades and splices. Macros chain effects and an export step across a folder of files.

Limits. The learning curve. Effects apply to a selection, each has its own dialog, and there is no preview of the whole chain at once. Batch requires setting up a Macro. No mobile version.

Best for. Masters for distribution, edits that need trimming or independent pitch, and anyone already comfortable in a waveform editor. See the full Audacity comparison.

3. SonicLab

What it is. A free browser generator at soniclab.io. Its page states that everything runs in the browser and files never leave the device.

Strengths. Speed 0.5x to 1.5x, reverb depth 0 to 100%, a pitch shift of up to six semitones in either direction, and bass boost to +12 dB. Five presets: Classic, Dreamy, Lo-fi, Vapor and Subtle. Real-time preview. MP3 or WAV output. Accepts MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG and AAC up to 500 MB. No login.

Limits. The page lists no decay, tone or width controls, and does not mention batch processing or custom presets. The MP3 bitrate is not stated.

Best for. Single edits where you want a WAV or an independent pitch shift without a desktop program. See vs SonicLab.

4. LuminaAudio

What it is. A free browser generator at luminaaudio.com, processed in the browser with the Web Audio API according to its page.

Strengths. Speed 0.5x to 1.5x, reverb percentage, a Timbre control that darkens or brightens the reverb tail, and bass boost. Segment editing: split a track at timestamps and give each part its own settings, exported as one file. Accepts video (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV) and extracts the audio. Exports WAV, MP3 and AAC. "15+" Vibe Match presets plus Slowed (0.85x) and Nightcore (1.25x). No sign-up, no watermark.

Limits. 500 MB maximum file size. No decay control, width control or batch processing mentioned. Bitrates not stated.

Best for. Edits where different sections need different settings, or where the source is a video file. See vs LuminaAudio.

5. SlowedAndReverb.Studio

What it is. A browser remixer by Alex Bainter with a free tier, a Pro subscription via Gumroad, and Chrome and Firefox extensions. Its homepage is a JavaScript app, so our description comes from the app's own text.

Strengths. Speed 0.5x to 1.5x in 0.05 steps, reverb 0 to 100%, presets for Slowed+Reverb (0.8x, 40%) and Nightcore (1.2x, dry). WAV download appears to be free. Playlist remixing with per-track speed and reverb. Pro adds independent pitch (beta), bass boost, trimming, MP3 download, a saved library, custom defaults, dark theme and no ads.

Limits. The free version shows ads. Bass, MP3 download, pitch and trim require Pro. We found no decay, tone or width controls. We did not verify the Pro price.

Best for. People who want a free WAV from a browser, or who will pay for a library and pitch control. See vs SlowedAndReverb.Studio.

6. AudioWrench

What it is. A free browser tool at audiowrench.com. Its page says core processing runs locally and the song is not uploaded.

Strengths. Modes for TikTok Slowed (80%), Nightcore Reverse (75%), Vaporwave (65%) and Custom, all using the same synthetic hall reverb. Wet amount, decay and tail duration are named as controls. Exports a 320 kbps MP3 or WAV. Accepts MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG and M4A. Free, no signup, no watermark.

Limits. The speed slider's range is not stated. No numeric ranges for the reverb controls. Pitch follows speed with no preserve option mentioned. No batch, mobile or file size information on the page.

Best for. A single high-bitrate MP3 or WAV from a browser with a decay control.

7. SoundTools

What it is. A free browser tool at soundtools.io with three presets and a custom mode.

Strengths. Presets for TikTok Slowed (80%, medium reverb), Nightcore Reverse (75%, light) and Vaporwave Aesthetic (65%, heavy). Speed from 50% to 100%, reverb from 0% to 200%. Accepts MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC and OGG. Free with no file limits stated.

Limits. Speed does not go above 100%, so no sped up or nightcore edits. The FAQ says pitch is preserved, which means you do not get the classic lowered-pitch slowed sound. The page's wording on whether files are uploaded is inconsistent, describing both an upload and in-browser operation, so we cannot say where processing happens. MP3 bitrate not stated. No decay control.

Best for. A quick slowed version that keeps the original key.

8. Slow & Reverb for YouTube (Chrome extension)

What it is. Our Chrome extension, version 0.2.1, which applies slowed and reverb live to YouTube and YouTube Music while you watch. Permissions are tabs and storage.

Strengths. No file needed. Open a video, set speed and reverb, listen. Useful for auditioning how a song will sound slowed before you make the edit.

Limits. It does not download or export anything. Desktop Chrome and Chromium browsers only. A Firefox add-on called Slowverb exists for the same purpose.

Best for. Listening and auditioning rather than producing files. See slow down YouTube videos.

How to choose

  • You need WAV or a 320 kbps MP3: Audacity, SonicLab, LuminaAudio, AudioWrench, or SlowedAndReverb.Studio's free WAV.
  • You need to process an album at once: slowandreverb or Audacity Macros. SlowedAndReverb.Studio's playlist remixing also covers it.
  • You need independent pitch: Audacity, SonicLab, or SlowedAndReverb.Studio Pro.
  • You want decay, tone and width control in a browser: slowandreverb, or AudioWrench for decay.
  • You want zero ads, zero account and nothing gated: slowandreverb, Audacity, SonicLab, LuminaAudio, AudioWrench, SoundTools.

Open the free editor: upload MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG or FLAC, adjust speed, reverb, bass, tone, width and space, then export MP3 or a ZIP of many tracks. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free slowed reverb maker?

It depends on the output you need. For batch MP3 edits with reverb decay, tone and width control, we think ours is the best fit. For a lossless WAV or an MP3 above 96 kbps, Audacity or one of the browser tools that exports WAV is the better pick.

Which slowed reverb makers export WAV?

From their pages at the time of writing: Audacity, SonicLab, LuminaAudio, AudioWrench and SlowedAndReverb.Studio (free tier). slowandreverb and SoundTools export MP3 only.

Which tools let me process many songs at once?

slowandreverb has batch built in with ZIP export. Audacity does it through Macros. SlowedAndReverb.Studio describes playlist remixing. The other browser tools on this list do not mention batch processing.

Do online slowed reverb tools upload my music?

slowandreverb, SonicLab, LuminaAudio, AudioWrench and SlowedAndReverb.Studio all state that processing happens in the browser. SoundTools' page is inconsistent on this point. Audacity is desktop software so nothing leaves your computer.

Which tool changes pitch independently of speed?

Audacity's Change Pitch, SonicLab's pitch shift of up to six semitones, and SlowedAndReverb.Studio's Pro pitch control. slowandreverb ties pitch to speed with a Preserve pitch option.

Is 96 kbps MP3 good enough for YouTube and TikTok?

Yes for those platforms, because they re-encode your upload. It is not good enough for a distribution master, where you should work from a WAV source in a DAW or Audacity.

Why is Violet Recording not on this list?

Its page returned a server error each time we tried to read it while writing this, so we could not verify its features and chose not to describe it from memory.
