Comparison

slowandreverb vs SlowedAndReverb.Studio

Slowandreverb vs SlowedAndReverb.Studio compared on speed, reverb, pitch and bass controls, free vs Pro, MP3 and WAV downloads, ads and batch remixing.

SlowedAndReverb.Studio is a browser remixer by developer Alex Bainter that makes slowed and reverb, sped up, daycore and nightcore versions of songs, and it is one of the better known tools in this space. It also has a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox and a paid Pro tier. This page compares it with the slowed reverb editor on this site.

A note on method first. SlowedAndReverb.Studio's homepage is a JavaScript application. Fetching the page without running scripts returns only a title and a description: "The easiest way to slow down, speed up, add reverb, and change the pitch of songs in a free, online generator." To describe the features, we read the application's own code and the text it contains. That gives us control ranges and feature lists as written by the developer, but it does not tell us how the app behaves in every situation, and it says nothing about pricing amounts. Where we are reading code rather than a published page, we say so. For how a browser extension differs from an editor in general, see extension vs web editor, and for the wider field, the best slowed reverb makers list.

What we could verify, and how

The app text we read includes slider definitions for Speed (0.5 to 1.5, step 0.05), Reverb (0 to 1, step 0.05) and Pitch (0.5 to 1.5, step 0.05, as a frequency ratio). It contains two preset definitions, one at 0.8x with 40% reverb and one at 1.2x dry, and a changelog with lines such as "Added beta version of independent pitch control" and "Added ability to download individual remixes."

The Pro feature list in the app reads, in its own words: save and play remixes in your library, set custom default settings for remixes, download MP3 and WAV files, no ads, dark theme, boost bass, trim, and a bonus Pro browser extension. The download menu marks MP3 with a Pro badge when no license is active, while WAV appears available in the free version. Pitch shifting, bass boost and trimming are gated behind the same license.

The privacy text says the service does not collect identifiable information related to the files you grant access to, such as audio data or filenames, and that the free version may display ads through Google AdSense.

What we could not verify

  • The Pro subscription price. The checkout is on Gumroad and we did not fetch it, so we quote no number.
  • Whether the free version has any limits on file length, file count or number of downloads. We found no such limits in the text we read, but absence from the code we saw is not proof.
  • The reverb algorithm or any decay setting. The code references a reverb node and a wet mix only.
  • The exact MP3 bitrate of Pro downloads.
  • How well the beta independent pitch control sounds on real material.

If any of these matter to your decision, open the app and check.

Where SlowedAndReverb.Studio is ahead

WAV output in the free tier. A lossless download without paying is a real advantage over our MP3-only export. Our 96 kbps, 32 kHz MP3 is tuned for fast in-browser encoding and suits YouTube, TikTok and Shorts, which re-encode anyway, but it is not a master.

Independent pitch (Pro). A pitch ratio from 0.5 to 1.5 separate from speed. We do not offer this; our pitch is tied to speed unless Preserve pitch holds the key, and Preserve pitch changes the live preview only; exported files keep the speed-linked pitch.

Trimming (Pro). Start and end offsets so you can cut an intro. We do not trim.

A library (Pro). Remixes stored between sessions in browser storage. We store presets locally but not tracks.

Wider input list. Opus, WebM and AIFF in addition to the usual formats.

A Firefox extension. Our extension is Chrome and Chromium only. A separate Firefox add-on called Slowverb exists for the same purpose, but it is not ours.

Where slowandreverb is ahead

Everything is free. Bass, MP3 download, custom presets, no ads, dark UI, batch export. There is no tier and nothing to unlock. Our bass control alone is a Pro feature on the other side.

Reverb decay, tone and width. Space from 1.2 to 6.0 seconds, a high shelf from -10 to +10 dB and a stereo width from 0 to 1.5. We found a wet mix slider and nothing else shaping the reverb in SlowedAndReverb.Studio's text.

No ads. Nothing loads besides the editor.

Custom presets without paying. Create preset saves your settings in the browser.

Four presets out of the box. Dry, Haze Chamber, Wave Drift and Lift, versus two.

Matching its presets here

SlowedAndReverb.Studio preset Published values Equivalent here
Slowed+Reverb 0.8x speed, 40% reverb Speed 0.80x, Reverb 40%, Space 2.4 s, Bass 0, Tone 0, Width 1.0, Preserve pitch off
Nightcore 1.2x speed, 0% reverb Speed 1.20x, Reverb 0%, Preserve pitch off

Our defaults add Space at 2.4 seconds because we have a decay control; set it shorter for a tighter room or longer for a wash. The nightcore maker page has more on the sped up side.

Batch

Both tools handle multiple songs. SlowedAndReverb.Studio describes playlist remixing with configurable speed and reverb per track and downloads as WAV or MP3. We do Select All Tracks, shared or per-subset settings, and a ZIP of MP3s. The practical difference is that our batch export is MP3 only and theirs includes WAV, while ours includes bass, tone and width on every track without a license.

Privacy

Both process audio in the browser. SlowedAndReverb.Studio's privacy text says it does not collect your audio or filenames; it does load ad scripts in the free version, which is a third-party request on the page though not of your audio. Our page loads no ad or analytics scripts for processing, and the editor keeps working if you disconnect after loading.

Who should use which

Pick SlowedAndReverb.Studio if you want a free WAV download, or you are willing to pay for independent pitch, trimming and a saved library. Pick this site if you want bass, tone, width, decay control, custom presets and batch MP3 export with nothing gated and no ads. If you listen more than you export, compare the two extensions instead of the two editors.

Open the free editor: upload MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG or FLAC, adjust speed, reverb, bass, tone, width and space, then export MP3 or a ZIP of many tracks. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is SlowedAndReverb.Studio free?

It has a free version and a Pro subscription. From the app's own text, the free version includes speed, reverb and WAV download, while MP3 download, bass boost, independent pitch, trimming, a library, custom defaults, dark theme and no ads are Pro features at the time of writing.

How much does SlowedAndReverb.Studio Pro cost?

We did not fetch the Gumroad checkout and will not guess. Check the Pro page in the app.

Does SlowedAndReverb.Studio export WAV?

Yes, and WAV appears to be available in the free version, with MP3 marked as Pro. We export MP3 only, at 96 kbps and 32 kHz.

Does slowandreverb have independent pitch control?

No. Pitch follows speed unless you turn on Preserve pitch, which keeps the original key in the live preview only; exported files keep the speed-linked pitch. SlowedAndReverb.Studio lists an independent pitch control as a Pro feature in beta.

Which has more control over the reverb sound?

We expose wet mix, decay time (Space), plus Tone and Width shelves. SlowedAndReverb.Studio's app text shows a wet mix slider; we found no decay or tone control.

Does either tool show ads?

SlowedAndReverb.Studio's free version loads Google AdSense according to its own privacy text. Our editor has no ads.

Do both have browser extensions?

Yes. Theirs is on Chrome and Firefox with Pro features by license key. Ours, Slow & Reverb for YouTube, is Chrome and Chromium only and applies the effect live on YouTube and YouTube Music.
